page 98: Cooper Union seems particularly proud of a former Chinese student, Jean Yee Wong, who had graduated in fine arts and studied lettering and calligraphy. Within a year of graduation she designed and illustrated the Modern Library book, The Wisdom of Confuscius [sic], as well as a number of other books.

The Illustrated Modern Library

All Books are Beautifully Designed and Boxed and
Stamped in 24-Carat Genuine Gold

Never before have America’s great artists collaborated with America’s
best designers and typographers to produce at this incredibly low price,
books that rank with the most expensive limited editions in design,
typography and caliber of illustrations.

No two books alike. Each is a creation in itself, interpreting in its format
and in its illustrations the spirit of the text. All books are profusely
illustrated in color with paintings, drawings, lithographs or woodcuts.
